Florida bar officials have launched an investigation into possible unethical conduct regarding probation time served in the Casey Anthony case. The claim is that Anthony’s probation from a 2010 check fraud case should have been tolled while she was in jail, and Mr. Baez had an ethical obligation to inform the court of his client’s probation status during a sentencing hearing. Tennessee lawyers are under a similar rule and are required to disclose information about their clients to the court.
